Jody Albright

Jody has been a frequent guest with Pine Street Jazz since the spring of 2004. Jody holds a Master's Degree in music from the New England Conservatory in Boston and teaches voice, choir, and music at the Community College of Vermont, the Flynn Center, and in private lessons. She has performed in many professional ensembles and led her own bands throughout Vermont and New England. Jody's singing style is exciting and interactive. While she especially loves to get inside a classic ballad, Jody is equally at home "scatting" a solo over a fast swing tune or jumping and wailing on an up-beat shuffle. Members of the band always appreciate how she improvises with them, keeping them on their toes and making each performance fresh and lively.

These are musical examples from two live performances during late winter 2005 that feature Jody Albright singing with Pine Street Jazz. Click on a song title below to download or listen to it. You'll need an MP3 player of some sort to play these. Please bear in mind that this performance was at a dinner club and doesn't necessarily represent the type of music that the group would perform for a wedding, or other event. And please forgive the inherent background noise of the restaurant, especially that irritating credit card machine.
